My main project at the moment is a series of studies with Professor Joan Bresnan of Stanford University comparing US and Australian language structures.ReasoningI have studied both deductive and nonmonotonic reasoning. Particular interests are spatial vs verbal reasoning strategies and how studies of human reasoning may guide the design of Artificial Intelligence reasoning systems.Higher EducationAs a side interest, I have done research on various educational issues, such as students' perception of group work, student motivation, and students' expectations of Information Technology (IT) degrees.IT Project ManagementI also have a side interest in IT Project Management, sometimes collaborating with Tony Jewels of the Queensland University of Technology on issues primarily concerning motivation of knowledge workers in IT. |
