Caves of the Wumpus

A strange mist rises to envelope you completely. The mist is very thick and impossible to see through. A strong wrenching sensation grips you and you feel your insides being tried into knots...

Just as suddenly as the feeling came it vanashes, and the surrounding mist clears to reveal...

11 : Cave of Carnivorous Plants

The air here is stuffy, almost humid. Round the edge of the cave, giant flat leafed plants have taken root & from their centres green veined, fleshy flowers bloom, crimson lipped trumpets that reach for the ceiling. Standing on tiptoe you peer over the edge of one flower only to gag at the sickly sweet stench of things rotten that rises. Deep in the funnel, the half dissolved carcus of a giant ant floats on the edge of a pool of murky liquid.

Other than that, the torch in your left hand is burning very brightly. In fact, it seems to be a completely new torch and likely to continue to burn strongly for a least a couple of hours.

You hear a distant bell toll, probably notifing the wumpus somewhere nearby of ``dinner''. You better find that exit quickly.

You are in cave 11: ``Cave of Carnivorous Plants'', and you are being hunted by the wumpus. Three passages are clearly signed with their destination.
