We invite papers addressing methodological challenges in qualitative research, as well as the quality and impact of research within your disciplinary domain. These challenges may have resulted from technology adoption (such as using software tools), involvement in research team environments, employing innovative design techniques, shaping cultural interactions, information visualisation processes, but are not limited to these themes.

Qualitative research in IT - qualitative research in technology-focused disciplines/projects
IT in qualitative research - the impact of technology on the qualitative research process

Within QualIT’s twinned themes, we seek papers utilising such methods as action research, case studies, ethnography, grounded theory (and others).

We particularly welcome contributions that discuss the use software tools designed expressly for the qualitative researcher. Papers will emphasise the role of the technology to generate and/or collect qualitative data (eg blogs, emails), or which use software tools designed expressly for the qualitative researcher (eg Nvivo, N6, Atlas, Leximancer etc).

Previous conferences have included papers discussing topical issues such as wireless handheld technology in E-health; Digital Rights Management and online music; developing ontological theories for conceptual models in Information Systems; triangulation in ethnography, hermeneutics, and the methodological implications of using qualitative software tools. This year's papers will be of a continuing high standard, drawing on a variety of disciplines and the challenges for qualitative research within those domains.
